Never before the Vaishnavite Assamese Culture and heritage was presented by a Satradhikar of Assam  to the outside world from such an important venue. The Sattriya Dance and Borgeet, two of Sankaradeva’s cultural creations, more than five centuries ago, was presented to the audience by the local Assamese artists demonstrating the influence of Vaishnavite culture in the present-day Assamese life.

For the Satradhikar and his accompanying guests, the British Museum opened its climate-controlled textile storage and study facility to view the remarkable Assamese woven silk textile, the Vrindavani Vashtra, which was not available for public display at the time. The Satradhikar also visited the British Library and enjoyed viewing the first publication of  renowned Assamese news magazine “Asom Bilasini” printed and published by Auniati Satra. During his short visit, the Satradhikar also visited Shakespear’s birthplace Stratford upon Avon. Satradhikar Dr Deva Goswami and his team flew back to India on 18th June.
